Navigator2Law complies with all applicable privacy laws, and is also striving to improve data protection constantly. This privacy policy of Navigator2Law covers all websites that are operated by Navitator2Law. The legal basis of the data protection can be found in the German Federal States Data Protection Act (BDsG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG).

(1) Basics

Navigator2Law collects anonymous statistics when you visit the website of Navigator2Law. Navigator2Law does not receive any information on your identity.

We only store access data in so called server log files. Access data includes your website request, date and time of the call, amount of data transferred, reports of successful connections, browser type, system software, referring pages and URLs (previously visited websites), IP address and the requesting provider. This data is used solely for statistics and analytics, to ensure trouble-free operation of the site, to improve system security and our offer.

If you sign up with Navigator2Law, we take great care to keep your personal data safe. We will never share your personal data with third parties unless you agree to it.

Please be informed that no data transfer via internet (including e-mail) is absolutely safe. Using the internet generally involves risk to personal data being disclosed.

(2) Cookies

The website uses so-called cookies to offer you the best possible user experience. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer or mobile device when you have gone offline (persistent cookies) or deleted as soon as you close your web browser (session cookies). Cookies are no software that enters the system of the user and causes damage there. Cookies allow us to identify returning website visitors.

(3) Google Analytics

We measure visitors to our website using Google Analytics, a web analytic service by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google uses "cookies", which record what pages you viewed within our site, how you arrived at our site and some basic information about your location (IP address). The IP address submitted by your browser will not be connected to the other information collected by Google.

Google transfers the collected information to a server at Google in the United States. If you activate an IP address protection, your IP address will be shortened.

The information collected via Google will be used solely to evaluate the website’s functionality concerning its development and further improvements, including insights into how you find and use our site, and how we can keep providing you with better service.

(4) Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn ("networks")

The networks provide plugins which we use on the blog of our website, such as the "Like", "Tweet", and "Share on LinkedIn" buttons.

If you are registered in such networks, the networks can see that you visited our website.

If you press the button of any network while being logged in to the respective network account, you can link the content of our website to your network profile. In this way, the network can trace back the visit to your network account. We would like to inform you that we, as the owner of this website, do not obtain information on the content of the transferred data and their usage by the networks. (5) Blog & Comments

For comments on the blog of our website, we use the online service disqus.com by Disqus, Inc. ("Disqus"). You can find more information about Disqus on its website https://disqus.com.

All data sent via the Disqus discussion thread are processed and stored on the servers of Disqus. Regarding the collection, processing and usage of the respective data, the terms of usage and privacy policy of Disqus apply, which you can find under https://docs.disqus.com/help/30/ and https://docs.disqus.com/help/29/. If you use Disqus via the aforementioned networks, they may also collect, process and use the data. Details can be found in the privacy policy of the respective network.

Disqus provides Navigator2Law with the text of your comments, the chosen user name, e-mail address submitted via the comment section stored at Disqus or the relevant network, and the IP address available. These data are used exclusively in connection with the comment function of Disqus and are not disclosed to any third party.

(6) If you sign up for Navigator2Law

When you sign up with Navigator2Law, we will record specific personal data about you, such as your name and e-mail address, telephone number, company name and address.

We will collect and store the data about your use of our services. As well as, log account and transaction history in order to render and monitor our services. For example, Navigator2Law sets up a password protected area for its clients and external lawyers.

By signing up, you agree that your personal data can be collected and saved by Navigator2Law in accordance with this policy. Navigator2Law keeps your data responsibly and confidently. We collect and process your personal data only to the extent that you have given us your consent and the legislature allows.

You are entitled to receive information on the personal data, the source and recipient, and the purpose of the data collection. Including to correct the data, limit the extend of the data and delete the data. (7) E-mails, Newsletter, Mailchimp

By supplying your contact information, you authorize Navigator2Law to contact you via email and to inform about Navigator2Law, its products and services, offers, updates and events. The e-mails may include a newsletter as well. You shall receive such emails usually no more than twice a month. You have the opportunity to opt-out of future e-mails by sending an email to info@navigator2law.com or using an unsubscribe button.

For sending emails, in particular newsletters, and for corresponding evaluation, we rely on the US provider “MailChimp”. The technical service provider MailChimp is a service of The Rocket Science Group, LLC, 512 Means Street, Suite 404 Atlanta, GA 30318th.

Your e-mail address is transmitted to MailChimp and stored there. After registration you will receive an e-mail from MailChimp to confirm your registration (“double opt-in”). MailChimp offers extensive analytical capabilities as to how the newsletter is opened and used. These analyses are a group based and are not used by us for individual evaluation. MailChimp also uses the Google Analytics, and might connect them in a newsletter. More details about Google Analytics, see paragraph (3) of this Privacy Policy.

(8) Online payment

We use a variety of payment providers to bill for our services online. These payment providers will have access to your personal and payment information. When paying by credit card, Navigator2Law does not have any access to your credit card details.

The third parties we use are Braintree (https://www.braintreepayments.com), Stripe (https://stripe.com/de), and Recurly (https://recurly.com/).

We share information with these companies only to the extent necessary for the purposes of processing payments you make via our website.

(9) Security

Navigator2Law takes many precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal data. These precautions include:

  • Use of SSL ("Secure Socket Layer") encryption for any communication between our servers and your browser;
  • Hardware stored in a secured location;
  • All access to information is restricted by password and/or secure key;
  • Restrictions concerning what information can be accessed via each user page;
  • Data server of Navigator2Law located in the EU.

Whilst we take great care to ensure all confidential information remains protected we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the internet.

Of course you are responsible for keeping your password and user details confidential. Nobody at Navigator2Law will ever ask you for your password, so please do not trust anybody asking you for it. We do not store clients’ passwords in plain text, hence we can not make it available to you in case you forgot one. Please use “Forgot your password?” functionality on our web site.

(10) Updates of this policy

We may update this privacy policy on occasion, particularly as technology changes. You can always check this page for the latest version. We may also notify you of changes to our privacy policy by e-mail.

(11) Information request and Withdrawal

You can always request information about the data stored about you, or assigned to your username, to correct inaccurate data, and to block or delete personal data, as far as there are no important business-related objections, or conflicting government regulations.
